Swaim Accounting Services, Inc. is a partner-led certified public accounting firm providing audit, assurance, tax, accounting, and advisory services to businesses, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and individuals throughout Texas and New Mexico. We combine decades of public accounting and financial leadership experience with direct partner involvement, responsive communication, and practical guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
Our Firm
Swaim Accounting Services was founded by John K. Swaim, CPA in 2019, building on his extensive background in public accounting and financial management. From the beginning, the firm has focused on providing responsive, experienced CPA services while developing long-term relationships with businesses, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and individuals.
As the firm grew, so did the breadth of its services and experience. The practice developed capabilities in audit and assurance, financial reporting, accounting, tax, and advisory services while maintaining the direct CPA involvement and responsiveness that have characterized the firm since its founding.
In February 2026, Ryan K. Swaim, CPA joined the firm after more than seven years with PwC, including more than two years as an Audit Manager. His addition expanded the firm’s audit leadership and technical depth and marked the transition of Swaim Accounting Services from a solo CPA practice to a partner-led firm positioned for continued growth.
Today, Swaim Accounting Services, Inc. is led by John and Ryan Swaim. We remain committed to the personal attention and long-term client relationships on which the firm was built while continuing to strengthen our audit, assurance, accounting, tax, and advisory capabilities. A particular area of focus for the firm’s continued growth is governmental audit and assurance, including work with school districts, special districts, and other governmental entities.

John K. Swaim, CPA
Founder & Partner
John is the founder of Swaim Accounting Services and brings more than 30 years of accounting and financial management experience, including more than 21 years in public accounting. He founded the firm in 2019 after developing broad experience in audit and assurance, consulting, financial reporting, and financial management.
Throughout his career, John has served governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, and privately held businesses. His experience also includes more than nine years as a Financial Manager and Chief Financial Officer for a nonprofit organization, providing him with both public accounting and client-side financial leadership experience.
John earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 1999, became a CPA in New Mexico in 2004, and became licensed in Texas in 2013. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Mexico Society of CPAs, and the Texas Society of CPAs.
John also served for more than 23 years in the New Mexico Air National Guard, including service in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
Ryan K. Swaim, CPA
Partner
Ryan joined Swaim Accounting Services in February 2026 and serves as a Partner of the firm. He brings more than nine years of public accounting experience, with a background focused on audit and assurance, financial reporting, and engagement management.
Prior to joining Swaim Accounting Services, Ryan spent more than seven years with PwC, where he most recently served as an Assurance Manager. During his time with PwC, he served privately held companies across a variety of industries and developed extensive experience managing audit engagements and addressing complex accounting and financial reporting matters. Prior to joining PwC, Ryan gained additional public accounting experience serving businesses and organizations in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
Ryan’s experience strengthens the firm’s audit and assurance capabilities as Swaim Accounting Services continues to expand its work with governmental entities, including school districts, special districts, and other public-sector organizations. He works directly with clients and is focused on delivering technically sound, well-managed engagements with responsive partner-level service.
Ryan earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Accounting from the University of North Texas in 2018. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 2019 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs.
